ODYSSEUS BAILER

I am originally from Gainesville, Florida and acting came to me a little later in my life. I am not your typical actor that started when I was in diapers. I didn't catch the acting bug until middle school. My first play was a lead in the school play "A Midsummer nights Dream". And the rest as they say is history. One of the thing that people don't know about me is my love for Astronomy. There is one problem with that profession. You guessed it math, my Achilles heel. So when I say acting was a complete accident, it really was a fortunate accident and I have been acting ever since. After high school, I got into college on a theatre scholarship to Santa Fe Community College. One of the cool things about Gainesville, Florida other then the college football team, was that it has an equity theatre house called "The Hippodrome State Theatre" where I would perform in there summer theatre festival of young playwrights. So I was able to get further training and knowledge about the craft of acting from professional actors.

After I finished my time at Santa Fe Community College, I was extremely fortunate once again to get accepted into an acting conservatory in NYC. I attended "The American Musical and Dramatic Academy" and went through their straight acting program. I finished that program in 2005, and I have been steadily working ever since. In the 12yrs I have been done with acting school, I have been in 72 projects in Film, Theatre, Television, Commercial, Voice-Over, and Commercial Print. I have learned so much over the years and I wouldn't trade any of it for anything in the world. I have learned to be a true student of the industry. I watch movies, commercials, tv shows from a different perspective and eye.

Outside of acting, I tried to stay as active and busy. When I am not auditioning, in a class/workshop, or on set I teach dance. I am a professional swing dancer and blues dancer. I have been swing dancing for 18yrs and blues dancing for 9yrs. I also dj the music I teach too. I also tutor astronomy from time to time, and if that doesn't show how much of a nerd, I am also an avid podcast listener.

But all in all, acting means the world to me and I know I have what it takes to be successful.
